Six-Pack Abs Require More than Just Exercise
October 15, 2008
Achieving six-pack abs may be everyone’s wish for their body, but few of us can have them. This is for two main reasons, one reason is that we are not practicing the correct techniques to gain a six-pack or the other reason would be that we just do not put in the amount of work required to gain a flat stomach with smooth muscle definition. While it is easier for some people to get a six-pack than it is for others, it is possible for everyone to achieve the goal of having the six-pack they desire. Even for a person who attains muscle definition fast, six-pack abs can take a long time and a lot of effort on their part. So for someone who has more fat to lose and poor muscle tone, this will be an even longer and tougher process. Some people just have their family genes running against them to achieve good health and fitness, it is a fact that we are all formed differently and respond differently and this includes body training. To achieve and maintain a six-pack, the path to getting there contains only those who are willing to be mentally and emotionally strong, continual motivation regardless of results and much, much patience.
Some areas that need to be focused on is diet, exercise and consistency in doing these things well. If these areas are not done correctly and precisely, failure will be the result. Even when these procedures are followed exactly it is still possible for the results not to show up for years later. A person must prepare oneself that this is a long term process and will need to be continued for as long as a six-pack ab is to be maintained. Diet is very important to achieving great abs. The diet needs to be a very healthy, nutritious, low-calorie plan that is absorbed into the body throughout the day in meals and snacks. Eating six times a day will spread out the food intake for the body to burn and use it much more efficiently and will also allow a person’s body to feel full more often reducing the temptation to eat. An ideal meal schedule for the body would look like this: at 8 am eat breakfast, at 11 a.m. eat a snack, at 1 p.m. eat lunch, at 4 p.m. eat a snack, at 6 p.m. eat dinner and at 9 p.m. have one more snack. Repeating this diet program on an everyday basis will prime a person’s body to contain minimal fat, but another factor must be added in.
Exercise is also a must on the six-pack ab list. Exercise and diet go together for results. Exercise is not only a simple abdominal workout, but must be a full cardiovascular workout followed or preceded by a strength-training program. Working the entire body to get lean all over will eventually show through some fantastic muscle tones including the abs. Some things to remember when working for a tight stomach are to be consistent with both diet and exercise. Repetition of the exercises will show quicker results and sticking to the diet will win loss of fat to achieve the goal. Remember to stay focused on what needs to be done and do not be tempted to stray from the direction of the goal set. It may take many months or even many years, so commitment is key and never give up even if results are not showing as soon as one would like. Keep up the work and the results will eventually show. The pain and perseverance will only make the six-pack abs look even better to a person after all his or her hard work.
Got something to say?
